How Do I.... Obtain A Repeat Prescription?
At present we use the tear-off slip from the prescription. If you are on regular medication PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE A SLIP WITH WHICH TO RE-ORDER. You may request the prescription by post (but please enclose an SAE if you wish the prescription to be posted to you) or you may go in person to reception.
Alternatively, you may wish to ask your own chemist to pick up your prescription from the surgery when ready. When requesting repeat prescriptions please allow two working days (48 hours) after dropping off your request. This allows time for the doctor to process and check the request. If you have run out of medication and your request has become urgent, please notify the receptionist at the time of request. If your doctor has changed your regular medication please ensure this change is given to the receptionists so that the computer record can be amended.
PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS BY TELEPHONE - MISTAKES ARE EASILY MADE OVER THE PHONE.
Patients who require a regular supply of drugs may find it cheaper to purchase a
pre-payment certificate. Further details are available from reception.
